What Is a Reset Trip? (And Why a Vacation Isn’t One)

A vacation entertains. A Reset Trip restores.

You’ve probably taken the kind of trip that’s supposed to fix everything. Two weeks, a beautiful place, a suitcase full of good intentions. You came home tan, rested-ish — and within ten days, the old weight was back on your shoulders like it had never left.

That isn’t a failure of the destination. It’s a failure of the design.

A Reset Trip is our answer to that pattern: travel designed not around what you’ll see, but around who you’ll become while you’re there. Slower. Quieter. More yourself.

A vacation entertains. A Reset Trip restores.

Most travel is built on stimulation — more sights, more restaurants, more photos, more proof that you’re making the most of it. There’s nothing wrong with that kind of trip. But stimulation is not restoration, and for someone running on empty, more input is the last thing the system needs.

A Reset Trip works differently:

  • Intention first. Every Reset Trip begins with a conversation about where you actually are — depleted, transitioning, celebrating, grieving — and what “better” would honestly feel like. The itinerary is built backward from that.
  • Pace as medicine. Unhurried isn’t a mood here; it’s the method. Long mornings. Unscheduled afternoons. Room in the day for the things restoration actually requires: sleep, sunlight, salt water, long walks, real conversation, doing gloriously little.
  • Place with a pulse. We send you where the land itself does some of the work — warm mineral water, rainforest air, coral cliffs at sunset. Some landscapes restore; we know which ones, because we’ve stood in them.
  • Gentle structure. A Reset Trip isn’t a retreat with a 6 a.m. gong and a group circle. There may be a massage, a guided hike, a private boat day, a cooking lesson with a local family — but everything is an invitation, never an obligation.

Who it’s for

Reset Trips were made for the people who hold everything together: high achievers in demanding careers, parents in the thick of it, couples who love each other but haven’t had a real conversation in months, anyone standing at the edge of a life transition — a milestone birthday, an empty nest, a career change, a loss — wondering what comes next.

You don’t need a crisis to earn one. You just need to be honest that the way you’re living isn’t quite working, and willing to let somewhere beautiful hold you for a while.

What it looks like in practice

We design every Reset Trip around a simple arc — arrive, unwind, wander, return — and we currently offer three signature journeys:

The Negril Reset — our home ground. Seven miles of white sand, coral cliffs, river swims and mineral falls. This is the deep-rest option: the trip for people who need to remember what their shoulders feel like when they’re not up around their ears.

The Antigua Reconnect — built for two. Three hundred and sixty-five beaches means you can find your own stretch of sand every single day, and the whole island seems designed for couples to slow down and find each other again.

The Costa Rica Rewild — for the ones who restore through aliveness rather than stillness. Cloud forest, volcanic hot springs, howler monkeys at dawn. Pura vida isn’t a slogan here; it’s an operating principle.

Each can be shaped around you — a long weekend or three unhurried weeks, barefoot-luxury or true barefoot, together or gloriously solo.

How it begins

Every Reset Trip starts the same way: with a conversation. Not a booking form — a real conversation about where you are and what you need. From there, we design the journey, handle every detail, and stay with you from the first idea to the flight home.

That’s the whole philosophy, really. Travel with purpose, tread with heart. The purpose is your restoration. The heart is everything we put into designing it.
